1. Purpose & Scope
This AI Use, Content & Disclaimer Policy governs the use of artificial intelligence ("AI") features on the EduVerse™ platform. It applies to all users — students, tutors, administrators, and owners — who access any AI-powered feature on EduVerse™.
EduVerse™ integrates AI technology to enhance the educational experience through personalised learning assistance, content generation support, and smart scheduling suggestions. This Policy establishes the principles, permissions, prohibitions, and limitations that apply to AI use, ensuring that AI is used responsibly, ethically, and in furtherance of genuine learning.
This document is issued under the EduVerse™ Total Quality Management (TQM) framework and is subject to periodic review as required by ISO 9001:2015 §9.3.
2. AI Technology Used
2.1 — Google Gemini 2.5 Flash via Firebase Genkit
EduVerse™ uses Google Gemini 2.5 Flash, a large language model (LLM) developed by Google DeepMind, accessed through Firebase Genkit — Google's open-source framework for building AI-powered applications. Genkit manages prompt construction, response streaming, safety filtering, and output formatting.
2.2 — AI Features on EduVerse™
| Feature | Description |
|---|---|
| AI Tutor | Conversational AI assistant that answers subject-specific questions, explains concepts, and guides students through problems step by step |
| Content Generation Assistance | AI-assisted generation of study notes, summaries, practice questions, and revision materials based on curriculum topics |
| Smart Scheduling Suggestions | AI-assisted recommendations for study session planning and revision scheduling based on academic progress |
All AI features are subject to this Policy and to Google's applicable AI usage policies.
3. Permitted AI Use
The following uses of AI features on EduVerse™ are expressly permitted:
- Asking the AI Tutor subject-specific educational questions within your enrolled curriculum
- Requesting explanations of concepts, theorems, formulas, literary themes, historical events, or any academically relevant topic
- Using the AI to generate study notes, flashcard content, concept summaries, and revision aids to support your own learning
- Requesting worked examples or step-by-step walkthroughs to understand methodology
- Using AI-generated scheduling suggestions as a guide for personal study planning
- Asking follow-up and clarifying questions to deepen understanding of topics from tutoring sessions
- Reporting AI responses that appear inaccurate, inappropriate, or harmful via the Platform feedback mechanism
The AI Tutor is designed to function as a learning companion — it is intended to support, not replace, the instruction provided by qualified human tutors.
4. Prohibited AI Use
The following uses are strictly prohibited and may result in disciplinary action up to and including permanent account suspension:
- Academic dishonesty: Using AI to complete, write, or generate answers to graded assessments, tests, assignments, or examinations intended to evaluate your own knowledge
- Misrepresentation of authorship: Submitting AI-generated content as your own original work where such representation is false or misleading
- Jailbreaking and prompt injection: Attempting to circumvent, manipulate, or override the AI's safety guidelines, system instructions, or content filters
- Generation of harmful content: Using AI to produce content that is defamatory, harassing, discriminatory, sexually explicit, or in violation of any applicable law
- Disinformation: Using AI to generate deliberately false or misleading educational content with intent to deceive
- Reverse engineering: Attempting to extract or reconstruct the system prompts or proprietary instructions underlying EduVerse™ AI features
- Automated abuse: Using scripts, bots, or automated systems to send requests to AI features in a manner that constitutes abuse of Platform resources
5. AI Content Disclaimer
5.1 — AI Can Make Mistakes
AI-generated content is produced by a probabilistic language model. Despite the capability of Google Gemini 2.5 Flash, AI systems can and do make errors, including:
- Factual inaccuracies ("hallucinations") — confidently stated information that is incorrect
- Outdated information — the model's training data has a knowledge cutoff and may not reflect the latest developments
- Misinterpretation of ambiguous questions
- Incomplete answers that omit important nuances, exceptions, or conditions
5.2 — Always Verify with Your Tutor
Users are strongly encouraged to verify AI-generated content with their assigned human tutor before relying on it for academic work, examination preparation, or any consequential decision.
5.3 — Educational Assistance Only — Not Professional Advice
AI-generated content on EduVerse™ constitutes educational assistance only. It does not constitute, and must not be relied upon as, medical or health advice, legal advice or legal opinion, financial or investment advice, psychological counselling, or any other form of licensed professional advice.
5.4 — No Liability for AI Errors
EduVerse™, its founders, tutors, employees, and affiliates expressly disclaim all liability for any loss, damage, academic consequence, or harm arising from reliance on AI-generated content. Use of AI features is at your own risk.
6. Data & Privacy in AI Interactions
6.1 — What Is Sent to the AI
| Data Element | Sent to AI? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Your conversation messages (prompts) | Yes | Required for the AI to generate a response |
| AI-generated responses | Yes (as context) | Used for conversational continuity within the same session |
| Your name or email address | No | Not included in AI requests |
| Your full user profile | No | Profile data is not transmitted to the AI |
| Payment or financial data | No | Never transmitted to the AI |
| Sensitive personal data | No | Excluded from all AI requests |
6.2 — Data Handling by Google
Conversation data transmitted to the Gemini API is processed by Google in accordance with Google's AI data usage policies and Firebase terms of service. By using AI features, you acknowledge that your conversation prompts are processed by Google's infrastructure.
6.3 — Deleting AI Chat History
Users may delete their AI chat history at any time via the AI Tutor interface ("Clear History"). For full account-level AI data deletion, contact support@eduverse.in or submit a request per EVP-DDP-01.
6.4 — No AI Training on User Data
EduVerse™ does not use individual user conversation data to fine-tune, train, or improve AI models.
7. Academic Integrity
EduVerse™ is an educational platform. The AI Tutor is designed to support learning — to explain, clarify, and guide — not to do the work on behalf of the student. Using AI to circumvent the learning process undermines the purpose of education and may result in academic outcomes that do not reflect genuine knowledge.
Students are responsible for ensuring that any work submitted for assessment is their own genuine work unless the assignment specifically permits AI assistance. Where AI assistance is permitted by the tutor, the extent of that assistance must be disclosed.
Confirmed academic dishonesty involving AI may result in:
- Formal warning issued to the student and parent/guardian (for minors)
- Assignment of zero marks or grade demotion for the relevant assessment
- Temporary suspension of AI feature access
- Permanent account suspension for repeated or severe violations
- Notification to the educational institution or board where applicable
8. AI Limitations & Accuracy
| Limitation | Description |
|---|---|
| Hallucinations | The model may generate factually incorrect but plausible-sounding information |
| Knowledge cutoff | Training data has a cutoff date; very recent events or discoveries may not be reflected |
| Subject depth | The model may lack specialist depth required for advanced or niche academic topics |
| Language & cultural bias | AI responses may reflect biases in training data, particularly for non-Western educational contexts |
| No real-time data | The AI cannot access the internet, live databases, or current news during a conversation |
| Context window limits | Very long conversations may cause the AI to lose track of earlier context |
| Curriculum alignment | AI responses may not be perfectly aligned with the specific syllabus, board, or curriculum the student follows |
EduVerse™ works to mitigate these limitations through system-level prompt engineering and safety configuration, but cannot guarantee perfect accuracy. Always cross-reference AI output with your study materials and tutor.
9. User Responsibilities
By using AI features on EduVerse™, you accept the following responsibilities:
- Apply critical thinking: Evaluate AI responses rather than accepting them uncritically. AI is a tool to support your reasoning, not a replacement for it.
- Verify important information: For content used in academic work or consequential decisions, verify AI output against authoritative sources such as textbooks, tutor guidance, or official syllabus materials.
- Report inappropriate output: If the AI produces content that is grossly incorrect, offensive, or harmful, report it via the Platform's feedback mechanism or email support@eduverse.in.
- Maintain honesty: Do not misrepresent AI-generated content as your own original work in contexts where that representation is dishonest.
- Protect your account: You are responsible for all AI interactions conducted through your account. Do not share your login credentials.
- Respect usage limits: Do not abuse AI features through excessive automated or bad-faith requests that degrade the service for other users.
10. Governing Law
This Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. All disputes arising from this Policy or the use of AI features on EduVerse™ shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. By using AI features on the Platform, you agree to submit to the jurisdiction of these courts and waive any objection to venue or jurisdiction.
